It was suggested that I start some sort of journal to record my experiences in Israel. I find the idea very appealing, so here goes. I leave for Israel in 8 days. I am excited beyond belief. Ironically, as the fighting has intensified in Israel and Lebanon, I find myself wanting to go more and more. I want to be there as history is made, to learn first hand about some of the most dramatic events in Israel since the year 2000. Every day, I watch on the news as the Israeli's dig deeper into Lebanon and as world leaders scramble in the face of lingering humanitarian disasters and a possible vastly expanded conflict. |
